Snow Leopard - Safe to install silabs USB drivers with Parallels?

jim glidewell's picture

I have read in some (old) postings elsewhere that installing the Silabs USB driver may cause a conflict that prevents the use of USB under a virtual machine.

I am using the latest versions of Snow Leopard and Parallels (running Windows XP).

Is it safe to install the current Silabs USB drivers? Will I still be able to use the USB connection on the Windows side?

Thanks!

I have installed the Silabs

I have installed the Silabs drivers in both the virtual environment and the native environment without issues (Win7 64bit and WinXP).

When you assign the USB device to the virtual machine it should disappear from the native system until the virtual machine is stopped or the association is removed.

I have no experience with Snow Leopard in that respect.
